Shifu Mark Browne
Shifu Mark Browne has been a practitioner of Martial Arts for 28 years and has been teaching Shaolin Gong Fu for over 9 years. Shifu Browne is 36 years of age and started practicing Gong Fu at age 8 in London. Shifu Browne started his Gong Fu training in Stratford, East London. Studying tae kwon do he became the highest achieving student, gaining his first Black belt at the young age of 9 ½, and was offered membership to the world Tae Kwon-do federation. Shifu Browne went on to study Chin Na, Ryu Karate, Wing Chung, Kickboxing and Taijaiquan.

At the age of 16, Shifu Browne's search for the understanding of true Gong Fu took him to Songshan Shaolin Temple (Henan Province, China) to continue his study. Shifu Browne resided within the wall's of the Shaolin Temple for over 3 years. This enabled Shifu Browne to study under many of the Great Masters of the world today i.e. 34th Generation Monks Shi Grulin (Shaolin Temple USA), Shi Yanzi, Shi Yanlei and also Yip Man Yi, Shifu Michael Jakes (European open push hands Tai Chi champion - St Lucia) and many more. Shifu Browne has become a Master of many different styles of Gong Fu, specialising in Taijiquan / Qigong and San Shou. Shifu Browne's own achievements have lead him to teaching the Metropolitan Police and young offenders, as well as raising students to competition level (Olympic standard) backed by the British National Martial Arts Society.

In 1999, Shifu Mark Browne opened his own branch of Shaolin Gong Fu School in the UK, based in Walthamstow, East London. Many Shaolin Monks have visited the School over the years and have taught in the School and set the correct training standard.

Shifu Browne's mission is to spread the teachings of Shaolin and Chen culture across the UK, so that others can experience the mysteries of ancient teachings within Shaolin and to enjoy a healthy life. Shifu Browne commenced talks with the Senior Abbott and Directing Managers of Shaolin Temple (China), with a vision of employing the Head of Shaolin Temples teaching department Monk Shi Heng Long (China's National Judge and Coach), to teach full time within the UK. The School was named "Shaolin Gongfu City" in conjunction with Shaolin Temple (China) and now has a registration of over 800 students, studying daily with locations all over London and surrounding counties.
